International Cannabis Standard

We develop international standards for cannabis grading creating a common language of quality for this important global commodity.

Trust • Value • Transparency

ICS is an independent, non-governmental international organization. Through its strategic advisory committee it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant International Standards for all forms of Cannabis.

Our first standard to be published soon is for Cannabis - Dry Flower which will facilitate a common lexicon among the global Cannabis community so that the safety standard is established through Health Canada release and similar countries fortified with objective evidence-based quality criteria including but not limited to:

  • Photographic evidence on every Certificate of Analysis
  • Harvest on date
  • Batch Lot Size
  • Percentage moisture
  • Water activity
  • Foreign matter
  • Cultivation practice(s)
  • Trimming method
  • Inflorescence density
  • Trichrome visual characteristics and density
  • Genovar identification and / or verification

The culmination of the application of our ICS Grading system is a simple score of 1-100 which will allow an elegant and standardized method to compare dry flower batches and establish the relative value of each.

For those who want to go deeper into the data is available allowing sub analysis of those quality criteria you feel is important from a value perspective.
